Why Is Detox or Cleanse Necessary?

Why is a detox or cleanse necessary?A century ago our bodies had few man-made chemicals to deal with. Most food was still grown organically, and with natural fertilizers. There simply wasn’t any other way. Now, our bodies are bombarded with chemicals, incomplete foods, additives and other toxins on a daily basis. While our society has truly come up with many great innovations that have saved lives – we have also created a toxic soup of pesticides, petroleum byproducts, food additives, cosmetics, cleaning products, and hundreds of other sources of chemicals in our lives. Our bodies are simply not built to withstand all of this modern contamination - and the foods we eat are not helping!

For instance, many of us eat low-fiber, over-processed foods on a regular basis. Not only are these foods swimming in chemicals, they are missing nature’s cleaning tool. Fiber. Fiber helps to move waste products through our bodies quickly so toxins are not absorbed. It helps flush out cholesterol, and even helps slow the absorbtion of toxins. Studies show that the majority of us simply don’t get enough fiber in our diets. Little wonder, since most of what Americans eat is processed to remove the fiber. Even foods that we think of as healthy, such as juice, can be a part of the problem since they are stripped of their fiber before they make it to our tables.

In addition to our food, we face toxic chemicals in the air we breathe, the cosmetics we use, and even the water we drink (yes, often even bottled water has contaminants). We can make careful choices to remove some of these chemicals from our environment, but others we have little control over.

All of this adds up to a big problem. Our bodies are simply not equipped to handle this load – and the overload causes our natural detoxification systems to slow way, way down. We get inundated with these toxins, and our bodies need help to cope with them. The end result is an increase in cancer and other diseases.

If you want to help cleanse your body of some of these toxins, you may be considering a detox diet or cleanse. One well-known cleanse is the Master Cleanse program. (Note: You must consult your doctor before using a fast of any kind. NEVER fast longer than a few days or drink more than 2-3 quarts of water per day. Extreme fasts can kill you.)

This program as known as the Master Cleanse has been around for over 50 years and natural health advocates say it is extremely effective in removing toxic from inside our bodies. The Master Cleanse is actually a fast and not a diet. While weight loss is not the goal of the Master Cleanse, many people report that they have had better success with weight loss during and after this detox program.

The Master Cleanse program is designed to give our digestive systems a rest, while we allow our bodies to remove the built-up toxins.  The Cleansing program essentially comprises of us taking a mixture of lemon juice, cayenne powder and maple syrup for a period of 10 days. However most people find this program difficult to complete because of the hunger pangs associated with it. This is because the Master Cleanse program is an all liquid diet and most books which promote this program fail to adequately prepare the person for the tough challenges associated with it.

Check out  the Master Cleanse Insider by Katie Jones before attempting the cleanse – you’ll be much more successful with complete information. You’ll learn what you need to do for physical preparation as well as mental preparation.

The Master Cleanse Insider also explains the possible side effects and how to overcome them. If you are considering trying the Master Cleanse, it is very important to get expert guidance before doing so. Very few people manage to complete the cleanse because they are simply not prepared to handel the challenges that are part of an intense cleanse. The Master Cleanse program has all the information you need to try this successfully – and get the results you are looking for. Click here to read more about the Master Cleanse Insider.
