Fast Diets – Jump Start Weight Loss

Looking for fast diets? While losing weight over time is the best longterm solution, recent evidence suggests that jump starting your weight loss works well as long as you are willing to make longterm changes as well. A fast is a great way to get a jump on your weight loss plan.

Starting with a fast diet is a good way to lose a few pounds in a hurry and help prime your body for weight loss. Be aware that your metabolism will temporarily slow down if you fast for more than a day or so.  When you stop your fast, be sure that you eat a reasonable number of calories and work to keep your metabolism high to keep your weight loss metabolism high.

Cleansing your body with one of these fast diets can help remove toxins and give your body a rest. The everyday toxins we are exposed to build up in our organs, skin and even in our fat cells. As you lose weight, those toxins are released and you may initially feel a bit sluggish and fatigued or even have headaches. Then, as your body adjusts, you may feel more energy than you are used to.

Once these toxins are flushed from your body, it is easier for your body use and absorb nutrients.

Not all fast diets are created equal, there are several different types of fast diets. Some of the most popular fasts include:

· The Juice Fast– With a juice fast, you drink only fruit or vegetable juice and water. No food. Juice fasts are used for fast weight loss and stubborn pounds that you’re having difficult losing.

· The Raw Food Fast – These differ slightly from diet to diet, but in most you eat only raw fruits and vegetables, some allow juice.

· The Tea Fast – These may be with herbal teas or green tea.

· The Master Cleanse Fast – With this diet you drink a lemon juice and maple syrup drink. No food is allowed during the fast.

There are several different ways you can fast – or make up your own. Fast on the weekends if you wish or fast one day and eat healthily on the next. When fasting does its job, your entire system will be cleansed of most of the harmful side effects of eating what most of us are guilty of eating – fast foods, processed foods and too much starch and sugar. The cravings for these foods will eventually disappear as you replace a “normal” diet with a healthy one. These fast diets can help reduce cravings.

Be sure to check with your doctor before changing your diet or starting a fast. If you have health problems, be sure to get a doctor’s ok before attempting any diet or exercise program. Never fast if you are pregnant or nursing – your baby needs a constant supply of nutrition. You also don’t want to risk releasing toxins that could harm your baby since their bodies are so much more sensitive than ours – and if you are pregnant your baby is just tiny and any released toxins could be too much for them.
